Development of automatic verification device for zero error of new steel measuring tapes

Steel measuring tape is one of the most common tools used in modern length measurements. In the verification process, the zero error has a great influence on the full-scale error of the steel measuring tape. In this work, we propose a new type of steel measuring tape zero error automatic verification device based on the mechanical detector independently developed by our institute and the modern technique of CCD image acquisition. And the uncertainty is also evaluated This project is of great significance for improving the accuracy and efficiency of the steel measuring tape verification and better achieving the traceability of the steel measuring tape.
