Introduction of the Bicomplex Analysis in the Finite Element Method Applied to Electromagnetic Far-Field Calculations

The paper is about an investigation of the bicomplex analysis in the context of the Finite Element Method (FEM). Combined calculations of the electric and magnetic part of wave propagation in homogeneous media are compared to the conventional ones with real- and complex-valued calculations. A significant improvement of accuracy concerning L2-norm of the electric field in comparison to the conventional analysis is achieved.
