Selective Processes during Formation of Porous Carbon Nanosystems

The paper describes selective processes associated with the growth of porous carbon structures using a sputtering device, that operates on the basis of the hollow cathode effect and the magnetron effect. It has been shown that using hollow cathodes with different geometric characteristics it is possible to realize different degrees of field selectivity and as a result to form porous graphite condensates with different morphologies. In the work acetone vapor was used as the working gas and tantalum as the substrate material. Condensation of carbon-titanium vapors inside the hollow cathode is accompanied by heterogeneous and spatially distributed growth of graphite and diamond phases.
