A Method of Spectrum Sensing Based on Multiple Antennas

In order to improve the detection probability and obtain additional spatial multiplexing gain in cognitive system, this paper proposed a method of spectrum sensing using multiple antennas, in which a fusion algorithm (α-MTG, α-maximum eigenvalue-trace-geometric mean) based on maximum- eigenvalue-trace (MET) and maximum-eigenvalue-geometric-mean (ME-GM) is applied to detect the presence of the primary signals, and then the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of the primary signals are estimated by the MUSIC algorithm with uniform circular array. We called this method as α-MTG-MUSIC. The simulation results show that under low SNR, the proposed method may get better detection performance including detection probability and range of detected angle.
