Comparative Study of Control Systems for a Photovoltaic Inverter with LCL Filter

The LCL filter for on-grid inverters are a cheaper and smaller substitute for the L filter. Many researches have proposed solutions to the control system of LCL plus inverter plant, which is challenging due to the resonance effects. This paper presents a review of some linear and nonlinear control methods frequently cited in literature through simulation comparisons under three scenarios: ideal case with no grid inductance, with a small value of inductance and finally with an increase in the line frequency.
