PV-Battery System Interconnected Through Transformer and Bidirectional DC-DC Converter

Nowadays integration of renewable energy to system are in peak level. Different challenges were faced when different sources were interconnected to the grid. Due to inefficient methods and higher switching losses different methods were left back up to date. However large number of converters are not effectively utilised due to intermittent nature of renewable sources. The proposed system aims to charge battery after satisfying load requirement and to manage power flow between different sources. Bidirectional buck boost converter is used to harness power from PV. The proposed system reduces number of conversion stages thereby reducing switching losses and increasing efficiency. Simulation results are obtained using MATLAB/Simulink which shows performance of the proposed control strategy for power flow between various loads.
