Topology and Simulation of Charged Melting Ice On Transmission Lines

Icing of the transmission line seriously affects the safe operation of the power system. The most effective method to deal with the line ice coating would be current ice melting. However, the existing power melting ice needs to be powered off. Because the power failure has a great impact on the power system, the existing method of charged ice melting is not practical. To solve this problem, a charged ice melting topology is proposed that the AC and DC isolation is realized through the resonant circuit. The DC ice melting device is connected to the AC system through the LC circuit. Meanwhile, a three-phase short circuit is adopted at the end of the line, so as to realize charged melting ice. Finally, Simulation and parameter design of the topology confirm that the topology can achieve charged ice melting.
