A Low Frequency Super Wideband Planar Sleeve Monopole Antenna with Lumped Elements Loading

In this paper, a low frequency super wideband sleeve-like monopole antenna with lumped elements loading is proposed for HF, VHF and UHF applications. The proposed antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) is composed of T-shaped radiation patch and sleeve structure, which is also loaded by some lumped elements to increase its bandwidth. The entire size of the devised antenna is 36×35 cm
²
(0.0120λ×0.0117λ), where λ is the free-space wavelength at the lowest operation frequency. The designed antenna is constructed and simulated by using the HFSS. The simulated results show that a -10 dB fractional bandwidth of 182.3% ranging from 10 MHz to 422 MHz is obtained for the developed antenna.
