MMW Holographic Imaging for Security Check

Millimeter wave (MMW) imaging has emerged as a promising technology for personnel screening due to its absence of ionic radiation and capability to detect both metal and dielectric hidden items without contacting. Recently, a three-dimensional Ka-band prototype based on linear frequency-modulation continuous wave (LFMCW) and holographic imaging principles is in-house developed. In this paper, results of laboratory test against human body and various samples are presented. Resolution of 6mm or less and powerful detection capability have been experimentally confirmed.
