Single-fed Single-patch Dual-wideband Dual-radiation Pattern Microstrip Patch Antenna

A single-fed single-patch linear polarization (LP) dual-band dual-radiation pattern patch antenna is presented by using hexagon-star-shaped patch and U-slot. The impedance bandwidth
$(\vert \mathrm{S}11\vert < -10\ \mathrm{dB})$
of the antenna are 19.6% (5.1-6.2 GHz) and 17.2% (6.9-8.2GHz), respectively. The lower and higher bands can be achieved conical-beam and single-beam radiation patterns. The wireless power transmission band (5.745-5.825GHz) and wireless communication band (7.1-7.3 GHz) can be completely covered. The advantages of proposed antenna are dual-wideband performance, low weight and simple structure. Good simulated result is obtained by a design example.
