Waveform-Distance Based Design of 5.8-GHz Self-Synchronous RF-DC Rectifier through Microstrip-Line Coupler

Waveform distance can be used as a measure of RF power amplifier and rectifier's performance difference to the design target. It is studied in this paper with a PA example waveform perturbation. RF-DC rectifier at 5.8 GHz is designed and tested. The measurements show that this rectifier can achieve efficiency of 67.9%, output power of 8.14 W, output dc voltage of 19.93 V at 5.8 GHz.
