Implementation of Maximum Power Point Tracking on Solar Panels using Cuckoo Search Algorithm Method

This Paper discusses about the implementation of the Cuckoo search algorithm in finding the maximum power on the solar panels. Where this method mimics the breeding principle of a cuckoo bird is looking for the best nest. In this case it is an example of finding the maximum power point on the solar panel. The test results performed by the proposed system were able to determine the maximum power point within 0.04 seconds with a power of 194.24 watts on the duty cycle of 20.5%. When compared with without MPPT only able to obtain a power of 189,165 Watt with a duty cycle value of 18.2% so that the proposed system is capable of raising power by 5,075 Watts.
