Study on Control Mode and Conversion Mechanism of New Generation Condenser in UHVDC Inverter Station

The new generation of condenser is a new rotating equipment in power grid, which can improve the voltage stability of UHVDC inverter-side AC system to a certain extent. Considering the smooth and stable reactive power regulation capability, the new generation condenser has many control modes, such as excitation control, DCS control, AVC sub-station control and AVC master station control, and various control modes can be switched automatically under certain conditions. Based on the thorough analysis of the reactive power regulation principle of the new generation condenser, this paper studies in detail the function mechanism and function coordination mechanism of various control modes of UHVDC inverter-side condenser, with a view to providing useful reference for relevant practitioners.
