Design of Static Synchronous Compensator and Its Controller Based on Improved ip-iq Detection Method

The detection of command current is the important part for static synchronous compensator (D-STATCOM) in distribution network. However, under the situation of imbalance of three-phase voltage and grid voltage fluctuation of the fundamental frequency, the traditional ip-iq detection methods cannot detect the nonlinear load current quickly and accurately, while leading to D-STATCOM reactive current output command value error exists and instability of power system. To solve this problem, the paper propose an improved method based on traditional ip-iq detection method and use linear active disturbance rejection control(LADRC) to control it, finally build a 10kV distribution network model in Matlab / Simulink for simulation. Verification shows that this detection method can detect and compensate accurately for harmonic and reactive components of the system, ADRC is superior to conventional proportional - integral - derivative controller, it has good tracking performance and immunity characteristics, this paper verify the feasibility of ip-iq detection method and its controller.
