Analysis of the Heart Rate Variability to Determinate the Influence of the Autonomic Nervous System on the Cardiovascular System

In heart failure, studies show that in the initial phase, there is an imbalance of the autonomic nervous system, represented by the increase of the sympathetic nervous system's influence on the heart. Maintaining long-term activation of the autonomic nervous system leads to decreased levels of myocardial catecholamines and down-regulation of beta1 receptors. Our study proposal has the goal of analyzing the data provided by holter monitoring of patients diagnosed with heart failure, in the attempt to find correlations with clinical, biological and echocardiographic parameters.
