Research on the Calculation of Accumulated Fatigue Damage for Ship Structures

Based on the direct analysis, three methods to calculate the accumulated fatigue damage for ship structures are addressed. They are based on the short-term distribution, the long-term distribution fitted from short-term distribution and a significant stress calculation. The corresponding formulations and flow charts are presented for each methods, respectively. The results show that the calculated accumulated fatigue damage varies from each other and much attention should be paid.
