60-GHz-Band Dipole Array Antenna Using Copper Balls Interconnection With Excavated Structure

This paper proposes a 60-GHz-band dipole array antenna using copper balls interconnection with excavated structure. Two types array configuration, 2×2 and 4×2 array is designed and measured. By the excavation, location error of copper balls will be minimized, then, improvement of the yield rate is assumed. -10 dB bandwidth is 4.5 %, maximum actual gain is 10.4 dBi as for 2×2 array antenna.
