Design of Magnetic Force Actuator for 1100kV High Speed Bypass Switch

The magnetic force actuator for the 1100kV high-speed bypass switch is designed. Firstly, the basic structure of the bypass switch is introduced. Combined with the requirements of the bypass switch on the operating parameters, the simulation model of the magnetic force actuator is established. The effects of capacitor parameters and coil parameters on the motion characteristics are simulated and analyzed. Through parameter optimization, the actuator that meets the requirements is finally obtained. The closing speed can reach 3.5 m/s. The closing time is less than 25 ms. The long travel and high speed of the actuator are realized. This paper lays the foundation for the application of magnetic force actuator to higher voltage levels.
