Design a Ku Dual-band Hat-Fed Reflector Antenna

A ku dual-band hat-fed reflector antenna is presented in this paper. Firstly, a new phase efficiency calculation model is employed for calculating phase efficiency of hat-fed accurately. By that method, accurate results can be obtained compared with former works. Secondly, the model of the hat feed is established by ANSOFT HFSS. Based on GA algorithms, a satisfying efficiency of the hat feed for reflector is obtained. Then, the OMT is designed. Finally, a ku dual-band hat-fed reflector antenna is proposed. The simulated results show that the proposed hat fed reflector antenna has a VSWR of less than 1.23 and an aperture efficiency of higher than 70% in the lower band (12.25-12.75GHz) and a VSWR of less than 1.16 and an aperture efficiency of higher than 71.2% in the higher band(14-14.5GHz).
