Basic Investigation on a Contactless Slip Ring with Electric Coupling

In this paper, the principle and constitution of a contactless SR is presented: A gap between rotating bodies acts as a capacitor and is compensated in resonance with an attached coil. A simplified experimental model was designed and fabricated. According to the current semi-conductor technology, 100 kHz was selected as the operation frequency. The fabricated capacitance and inductance were measured. The deviation of transmission characteristics of the experimental model between measured and theoretical values was 0.4%.
