A Miniaturized Dual-Polarization Frequency-Selective Rasorber with Meandering Structure

A miniaturized dual-polarization frequency selective rasorber (FSR) with meandering structure is proposed, which express a transmission window between two absorption bands. The FSR consists of a lossless layer and a lossy layer. The lossy layer is a folded cross fractal structure that four resistive sheets are loaded on unit cell. The lossless layer is a bandpass frequency selective surface (FSS) consisting of two metal square rings. The methods of meandering are used to achieve miniaturization. An equivalent circuit model (ECM) is proposed to analyze operating principle of the FSR. The dimension of element is 0.126 λ

is the wavelength corresponding to the lowest working frequency. The fractional bandwidth for reflection less than -10 dB is about 58% and a transmission window with insertion loss of -0.97 dB is obtained at 10.6 GHz. The FSR perform stable frequency response from 0 to 30 degrees for both TE and TM polarizations.
