A MUSIC based Interference Suppression Algorithm and Its Application in weak Target Tracking

In this paper, a multiple signal classification based interference suppression (MUSIC-IS) algorithm for passive sonar is proposed. In the proposed MUSIC-IS algorithm, each eigenvector is determined by decision criteria in proper order and subsequently divided into corresponding subspaces, namely signal subspace and non-signal subspace. Then the reconstructive non-signal subspace will replace the noise subspace in MUSIC algorithm to suppress interference and estimate the weak target's bearing as well. Subsequently, the performance of MUSIC-IS algorithm in interference suppression is shown in the simulation results. In addition, the proposed algorithm is also employed in weak target tracking to test its effectiveness with the real sea trial data.
