Wireless Sensor Networks Congestion Control Protocol Based on Intelligent Power Allocation

Due to the limited resources, wireless sensor networks is more likely to lead to packet loss and congestion in the transmission processing comparing to the traditional network. Adaptive transmit power is one of way to control the congestion. The key of adaptive transmit power routing congestion control algorithm lies in the accuracy of network state and node available resources, and also needs to combine the reliability and delay of information transmission and other QoS-related parameters. In order to avoid and control congestion, we present an intelligent control algorithm based on power allocation. The information of paths' cost and network nodes' resources are measured by referring to a variety of related QoS parameters. For network congestion control, the transmission power will increase or decrease to select different route node. Simulation is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed protocols in different scenarios. Results show that the proposed protocol can reduce the network delay, improve the system throughput and increase the network lifetime.
