A FSO Transmission System Based on Partially Coherent Beam Source

In this paper, we experimentally demonstrated a 4Gbit/s transmission experiment using a low noise partially coherent beam (PCB) source based on wide-spectrum filtered from supercontinuum (SC) which generated from picosecond mode-locked fiber laser pumping highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF). The noise of PCB source is reduced by filtering out amplified spontaneous emission noise of erbium-doped fiber amplifier The eye pattern and eye SNR based on PCB source before and after turbulent channel are measured, respectively. The experimental results show that the SNR of the PCB source before and after turbulent channel are 21.54dB and 17.89dB, respectively.
