Determination of the Residual Capacity of the Chemical Current Source

The paper presents the research on the development of the new method and the device for control the electrical capacity of the chemical current source (battery). Such a control ensures the safe, trouble-free, long-term operation of the chemical current source. The method is based on the analysis of the process of charging a capacitor of known capacity directly from the chemical current source and it allows determining its residual capacity with high accuracy during operation. The measurement results are recorded, both manually and automatically, without requiring a trial discharge of the source, which positively affects the service life of the source. A block diagram of the device has been developed, on the basis of which the way of creating the electronic components of the meter was determined. The choice of structural elements of the electronic unit was considered and justified. According to the developed structural scheme, the order of operation of the device was determined.
