Isogeometric Discretizations of the Electric Field Integral Equation

This contribution proposes a fast high-order isogeometric boundary element method for the solution of the electric field integral equation. The approach bridges the gap between computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering since CAD geometries given by boundary representations can be utilized without loss of information. Furthermore, the method promises better accuracy per degree of freedom than classical triangulation-based approaches. We present our findings which show that the method is mathematically sound, yields optimal convergence rates and possesses competitive complexity properties. We support these results by a range of numerical experiments.
