Complementary Split Rings Resonator Based Circular Microstrip Antenna for Wireless Applications

In this paper multiple complementary split ring resonators (CSRR) are realized on the ground plane along the periphery of a circular microstrip antenna (CMSA) that improves the realized gain at the desired resonant frequency. Dual band resonance characteristics is also observed when the CSRRs are designed at double the CMSA resonant frequency and placed half way underneath the patch.
