A Bi-Axial Piezoelectric MEMS Scanning Mirror for Automobile Lighting System

To provide drivers with high visibility in at night, an agile scanned-lighting system for automobile headlamp is developed by using a piezoelectric bi-axial MEMS optical scanner. A high-resolution pattern scanned on a fluorescent material is projected forward through a focus lens, thereby controlling the light-intensity distribution depending upon the position of the oncoming vehicle and the running speed.
