Offline Inductance Identification of PMSM using High Frequency Current Signal Injection

Accurate knowledge of inductances are essential for successfully achieving high performance of a PMSM and applying sensorless control. This paper presents a novel method for offline measuring the differential and static inductances of a PMSM. For this purpose, a high frequency current signal is injected in the d- and q-axis, respectively. As a result, inductances at different current operating points can be obtained. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
