Advance Coordinative Control for the PCC Voltage Fluctuations of the Asynchronous Wind Generator Based on the STATCOM with TSC

Based on the STATCOM+TSC hybrid reactive power compensation system, a multiple timescale advance coordinative control strategy is proposed to suppress voltage fluctuations at the point of common coupling (PCC) in the wind farm consisted of asynchronous wind generator. At first, wavelet MALLAT algorithm and hybrid neural network (HNN) algorithm are used to accurately forecast wind speed in the next 15 minutes. Second, in order to reasonably allocate reactive compensation capacity to STATCOM and TSC, expert decision-making algorithm is utilized. Forecasted wind speed is used to control working number and switching time of TSC in advance. Residual reactive capacity is compensated by STATCOM which has the advantage of high accuracy. Fuzzy-PI controller is used in PCC voltage outer loop to improve dynamic response time for STATCOM. The results of simulation model verify the feasibility and efficiency of this control strategy.
