Voltage-Sensorless Model Predictive Current Control for Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives

High reliability control strategy of motor drive system is required in modern industry. Model predictive current control (MPCC) is an excellent control method for Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) drive system. To obtain precise candidate voltage vectors in MPCC, a dc bus voltage sensor is necessary. Voltage sensor faults will lead to unreliable sampled dc bus voltage, which would lead to bad operation. This paper proposed a voltage sensorless MPCC for PMSM. . It is found that effect of dc bus voltage on MPCC is very small and voltage sensor can be eliminated by replacing the dc bus voltage with the rated value. The conclusion has been verified by simulation results.
