Design of UHF RFID body-worn textile tag for wireless applications

This communication focuses on the design and simulation of a body-worn textile tag for radio frequency identification (RFID) system over ultra-high-frequency (UHF) band operating at 914MHZ. The wearable antenna is patterned from commercial electro-textile materials (Less EMF Shieldit Super Fabric) and implemented on two different textile materials widely used for daily garment namely polyester and denim. The wearable tag were evaluated in terms of antenna reflection coefficient, realized gain and surface current density through CST Microwave Studio software. In addition, the simulations show that the performance of the proposed antenna is robust in bending conditions on the arm of a human body.
