Modal Analysis and Same-Bandedge Response Optimization of 3-D Lumped Networks

This paper examines the modal analysis of generalized 3-D lumped networks comprised of parallel-LC units between adjacent nodes and to ground. Numerical results of both single- and multi- modes of propagation are calculated and then validated using the Advanced Design System (ADS) software. It will be demonstrated that by proper choice of coupling values between adjacent resonators, different eigenmodes can achieve the same upper cutoff frequency. Such new behavior could find potential applications in microwave devices.
