Evaluation of Ground Sensor Terminal (GST) Transceiver System for UiTMSAT-1 Store & Forward Mission

This paper presents the evaluation of Ground Sensor Terminal (GST) transceiver system for UiTMSAT-1 Store & Forward (S&F) mission. The aim of this work is to predict the received power of UiTMSAT-1 transceiver with a separation distance of 400km. Therefore, the transmission tests of the GST system (the transmitter) and a dummy receiver were carried out for various separation distances. Based on the experimental results, the received power against the separation distance was plotted. By doing extrapolation, the predicted received power at UiTMSAT-1 is -109.76dBm for a transmitted power of 4W, which is higher than the minimum requirement of the received power of the UiTMSAT-1 transceiver system.
