Research of PMSM Wind Generator Under Assymetry Grid Conditions

The use of renewable energy sources is an important area of energy development that allows to solve a complex of environmental and social problems. The permanent magnet synchronous generator is the most popular type for wind turbines with variable speed and no gear. The connection of such a generator to the grid is carried out through a bidirectional converter in which the control of the generator-side is carried out on the principles of vector control with the machine flux orientation, and the grid-side converter is providing control with the use of voltage orientation principle. The paper presents the research of the operation of a wind turbine with a voltage-orientation principle for grid-side converter when an asymmetry of grid's voltage appears.
