Adaptive Control of DC Microgrid Using PI Controller and Fuzzy Inference

This paper proposes a DC bus voltage control of a microgrid composed by a photovoltaic (PV) array, a boost converter that integrates PV to the DC bus and a single-phase full-bridge bidirectional converter between the dc bus and the grid. Voltage control is done using an adaptive controller, which is composed by a PI controller and a Fuzzy controller. There is a control strategy that creates a basis for Fuzzy control rules and enables or disables the execution of a process in order to optimize the system and make it adaptable. The control of the power flow between a microgrid and an external grid is done by a proportional resonant controller. In the course of the article, there is a description of the microgrid elements, how they are designed, and the control strategy used for the adaptive DC bus voltage controller as well as the simulation scenarios. Finally, the results are presented, in which a response to perturbations and the controller microgrid performance are analyzed.
