Propagation of harmonic disturbances in electrical network caused by the electrical circuit breaker

Modern equipment are affected by deviation in the quality of electrical energy. Electrical disturbances which appear in the electrical system are a problem in sensible users and harmonic disturbances can influence the efficiency of the equipments and the human health. In this article the practical implementation of an electrical circuit breaker is shown, this is submitted on a short-circuit regime according to SR EN 60947-1 standard in which the aging of the material with time has been observed. On base of acquired data, the THD is calculated and the influence on the quality of electrical energy is determined.
