A Characteristic Mode Based Decoupling Approach

A novel and compact decoupling structure has been introduced in this work to improve the mutual coupling of a two element microstrip antenna array. A systematic blending of electric and magnetic dipoles lead to the construction of the isolating element whose working principle has been explained using the theory of characteristic modes.
