A Wide Output Non-Isolated Boost-Buck Converter

With the rapid development of new energy power generation, energy storage, electric vehicles and microgrid, the DC voltage generated by single power source is relatively low in the process of power conversion. It is necessary to add a DC converter at the front end of the system to improve the utilization rate of DC voltage. Aiming at the problems of traditional DC converter, such as small voltage conversion range and large switching loss. In this paper, a wide output non-isolated Buck-Boost converter topology is proposed. The new topology uses only two fully-controlled transistors as the main switch, featuring a simple topology and flexible control mode. At the same time, it has a wide voltage conversion range in terms of output performance and a voltage gain much higher than that of a conventional Buck-Boost converter. The occurrence of high voltage gain at extreme duty cycle is avoided, such as 44 times of voltage gain can be obtained when the duty cycle is 0.8. Finally, the rationality of the proposed Buck-Boost converter topology and the correctness of theoretical analysis are verified by constructing an experimental prototype.
