Simplified modeling of Directly Driven Wind Turbine with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator based on PSASP/UD

Considering that it is quite complicated to accurately simulate every dynamic detail of a wind farm after a large-scale wind power connection. How to easily and accurately reflect the modeling of wind farms has attracted the attention of scholars. In this paper, a more comprehensive simplified strategy for wind turbine with D-PMSG is proposed. D-PMSG in power flow system can be simplified into a power conversion model from the wind speed to the fan output. The transient system takes the characteristics of the short circuit current and the active recovery rate setting during the low voltage through-ride process into account. It can be simplified as a controlled current source with low voltage protection. Genetic algorithm is used to realize parameter optimization. The proposed model is tested with the measured data of offshore wind farms. The simulations are performed in Matlab/Simulink and PSASP/UD respectively which verify the proposed simplification method of D-PMSG.
