A Novel Strategy for Wind-Solar-Hydro Complimentary Real-time Scheduling and Control

This paper proposes a novel wind-solar-hydro complimentary real-time scheduling and control framework in which the power system operation constraints, renewable energy prediction accuracy and response features, electricity spot, medium-term and long-term transaction are simultaneously considered. With increasing number of renewable energy sources penetrated power systems, available transfer capability of transmission channels approaches to zero. Prediction precision index, operation performance index and transaction execution rate are applied to the objective function for guaranteeing the feasibility and equality between all wind, solar and hydro power plants. The proposed real-time scheduling framework enables power system operators to allocate generation with security, fairness, in the meantime, to maintain a high share of renewables penetration. Wind-solar-hydro power coordination control system framework with data flow is provided and the proposed approach for wind-solar-hydro complimentary real-time scheduling and control is tested in a modified IEEE 9-bus 3-machine Benchmark Network.
