Time-delay Alignment Technology of Photon Detection Array Signal Based on Photon Position Matching Degree

Aiming at the problem of time-delay alignment between photon detection array signals in deep space optical communication, a time-delay alignment technique of photon detector array based on photon position matching degree(PPMD) is proposed in this paper. The method calculates the matching degree of each pair of matched photons according to the position information of the reference signal photons and the pulse broadening waveform function. Then the time-delay estimation is determined by the offset corresponding to the maximum total photon position matching. Finally, the aligned signal can be merged into a single signal by the way of "sum", and then transmitted to the decoder to complete the decoding output. The simulation results show that this method can effectively achieve the time delay alignment of photon detection array signal, and the method is not limited to the time delay difference range.
