Influence of Polymer Matrix on Nonlinear Optical Response in Octaethylporphine Palladium Derivative Thin Films

The purpose of this investigation was diagnosis the influence of polymer matrixes on nonlinear optical response in porphyrin derivative thin films. Guest-host thin films were performed using spin coating method. As a host material was used palladium octaethylporphyrin Pd(OEP). However, as a guest materials we chose three polymers with different physicochemical properties: poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(1-vinyl naphthalene) and poly(9-vinylcarbazole). NLO measurements were achieved using well known Maker fringe technique in transmission manner. It was found that studied samples are characterized by interesting NLO response and can be promising to find application in nonlinear optical devices.
