The Features of Thunderstorm Activity Control by Different Radiophysical Measuring Instruments (Radar, Lightning Detection Systems, Ground-based Fluxmeters)

The analysis results of the experimental study of a thunderstorm cloud using the DMRL-S radar, ALWES and BLITZORTUNG lightning detection systems and fluxmeter complex are presented. The conditions of the hazardous phenomena development in convective clouds and possibility of their forecast by remote sensing radiophysical methods in the short-range zone were investigated. It is shown that the use of fluxmeters improves the information content of the systems for monitoring the electrical activity of clouds.
