Design and Simulation of an Inverted-L Antenna with Wide Band Fed by Strip Line

This paper designed a printed inverted-L antenna (ILA) for wireless communication system application. A strip transmission line was employed to feed the designed ILA. Two rows of short-circuit holes were used realized to the interconnection of the upper and lower metal grounds. The frequency range of designed antenna is from 5.4GHz to 6.6GHz. The researched ILA was simulated and optimized. The simulated average voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of designed ILA was lower than 2 within the working frequency range. The gain is about higher than 5dBi at 6GHz. The wide beams within the working frequency range were observed. The simulated printed ILA had a simple structure and stable performances, so it is suitable for some practical application.
