The Stability of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube: Lyapunov Function for Probe Needle

High mechanical strength and wear resistance determine the interest of using carbon nanotubes as probe needles. The analysis of the works has shown that on-line diagnostics of probe needles does not satisfy the development of nanoelectronics. The study of the stability of the probe needle and the creation of a model of its dynamic behavior in real time was conducted in the paper. In the presented paper the study of the behavior of AFM needle made of SWCNT is based on fundamental position of the notion of stability state of equilibrium of the needle as a physical system, introduced by A.M. Lyapunov.
