Miniaturized SIW Fed 45° Inclined Slot Antenna

This paper proposes a SIW fed 45° inclined slot antenna with shorting vias. The slot has been matched to SIW characteristic impedance and made to tune at a lower frequency by placing a short at an optimized position from the slot. The antenna shows good performance with respect to impedance bandwidth, gain and radiation pattern. The measured and simulated results are in good agreement. This antenna can be used where slant polarization is needed such as Base Transceiver Station antennas or for EW applications.
