Transformer winding inter turn short circuit fault analysis and corrective measures

It is introduced that the fault of inter turn short circuit of low voltage winding of 2# main transformer in a 220kV substation. According to visual inspection, diagnostic test and disassembly inspection depot, the fault reason is found out: the bad quality of wrapping paper of the transposition wire and outermost wire, the transposition "S" curve in cake defects and short wedge block length, resulting in main transformer failed to withstand short-circuit current. On this basis, the repair scheme of transformer is put forward, and relevant technical improvement measures are given to prevent similar equipment from short circuit capability failure.
