The Evaluation Indicator System of Overseas Oil & Gas Assets Divestiture and the Method of Multidimensional Motivation-Oriented Screening

Divestiture is a common way of oil companies' strategic choice. Because of the complexity of divestiture motive, it is very difficult to screen out the divestible assets from a large number of assets in a short time. Establishing a divestible assets pool can leave time and space allowance for decision making. In this study, Principal Components Analysis was used to screen out a number of valuable indicators from many evaluation indicators, to establish a scientific and effective evaluation indicator system for oil and gas assets divestiture. Based on different divestiture motivations and experts' experiences, Analytic Hierarchy Process was used to build a quantitative multi-dimensional screening model for motivation-oriented oil and gas assets divestiture. By combining the evaluation system with the screening model, the results were calculated and queued up to select the assets to be divested. A case of Company V's divestiture of Kampuchea assets was studied, providing scientific and applicable ideas and methods for petroleum companies to divest overseas assets.
