An In-Phase Balanced-to-Single-Ended Power Divider with Arbitrary Power Division Ratio

A balanced-to-single-ended power divider with inphase output is proposed for arbitrary power division ratio. The differential-mode arbitrary power division and common-mode suppression are achieved based on the ideal circuit model, which is configured by ±90° and 180°transmission line sections and one resistor. The circuit parameters can be derived by using the constraint rules of the S-parameters. To implement the ideal circuit model, a coupling structure is utilized as the -90°transmission line section for size reduction and enhancement of maximum power division ratio. One prototype with power division ratio of 7:1 is measured with the minimum insertion loss of 0.3 dB. The measured operating bandwidth for is 11.1%. Over the operating bandwidth, the isolation and common-mode suppression are all higher than 20 dB.
